Skill Building and Maintenance – Protecting Your Investment In Training
Athletes learn a particular set of skills and it seems that for a long time they only keep getting better and better. However, in most workplaces employees learn a skill and in a few weeks – even days, forget a lot of what they learned. In fact, many revert back to old habits. What do athletes know that we don’t about building skills and maintaining them so we don’t lose what we invest in training? This session focuses on the techniques that make training stick. Furthermore, we will learn how to make your training sessions produce long term results that increase performance over time.
Objectives:
Jennifer Flynn is an organizational and learning and development professional with 15 plus years with several Fortune 50 companies. Her current role is as Sr. Manager for Talent Development at Levi Strauss & Co. At Levi’s she has executed strategies on developing front-line leadership capabilities that have significantly improved employee engagement. She has also created core competencies and learning strategies for effective on-boarding of new leaders and the successful upskilling of existing leaders. Jen’s philosophy is that systems and organizations work best when their people are at their best. Through her authentic approach, she quickly builds trust and strong networks that help implement meaningful strategies to achieve business goals while encouraging employee engagement. She is driven by progress, momentum, and getting stuff done through strong relationships. She currently holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
